Thri Mukhi ( Three Faced ) Rudrakshas

In the earlier posts on Rudrakshas I have discussed about the one faced (Ek Mukhi) Rudrakshas and two faced ( dwi mukhi) Rudrakshas and the effect of these Rudrakshas on health and prosperity besides these Rudrakshas as remedies for planetary afflictions . The next on line among the various Rudrakshas is the thri mukhi ( Three Faced) Rudraksha which is known in sanskrit as Kalagni Rudra. The thri (three Faced) mukhi rudraksha represents lord Angaraka ( planet Mars) in the Horoscope and can be effectively used for all Mars related problems in the horoscope

Three-faced (3 mukhi) Rudraksha help remove the impurities and also help cure the the malefic effects of Mars. persons suffering from lack of Dynamism ,inferiority complex, fear, depression, and low B.P. would get benifited bywearing a three faced Rudraksha. There are various references in Shiv Purana , Padma Purana besides Devi Bagavatham about the good effects of three faced Rudrakshas. Three faced Rudrakshas ( Thri mukhi) represent trinity of gods Brahma , Vishnu and Maheshwara and the thri(Three) Gunaas(Qualities) of Sattva, Rajas and Tamas .

There cannot be a better Rudraksha than the three faced one for those who aspire for all the three purusharthas viz. Dharma , Artha Kama and Moksha. The cost of this Rudraksha is comaptratively less and should not normally exceed $1 to $2.5 ( Rs.50-100).

One Face Rudraksha ( Yeka Mukhi)

One Faced Rudraksha (One(EK) Mukhi Rudraksham) is the rarest of the rare Rudrakshas and the most virtuous and powerful one. It is comparatively costly and should be bought from genuine and authorised persons. It represents Lord Shiva and is used by people of high spiritual order, Rishis, sages and great devotees. It wards of all past sins and bestows the wearer with divine grace, enlightenment, virtuous mind peace and tranquility. It helps cure the maladies related to an afflicted sun

One Mukhi(One/single Faced)Rudraksha bestows lasting happiness and freedom from head borne diseases. It wards off loss of wealth. It grants the wearer Prosperity and abundance, besides lasting luck, and fortunes in all spheres . All forms of ill-effects concerning wealth are dispelled. It boosts the concentration and will power of the wearer. According to puranas and scriptures it prevents diseases of head such as paralytic stroke, neuralgia , etc.

This most divine one faced Rudraksha represents Lord Shiva and the wearer begets all kinds of spiritual knowledge. Normally one faced rudraksha is used by spiritually inclined people. One faced rudraksha (One Mukhi Rudraksham) is to be worn in Gold and the wearer need to be pious , vegeterian and clean.The person should be virtuous and noble minded should he/she wish good results.

Astrologically one faced rudraksha can be worn in case the sun is afflicted or ill placed . Round shaped One faced rudraksha is very rare and would cost very high.Normal one faced Rudraksha is moon shaped and is available with most of the suppliers. Rudrakshas An Introduction

The name Rudraksha is of sanskrit origin as the seed rudraksha was originated in the Indian sub continent , to be precise in the great Himalayas. The meaning of this sacred word is Eyes of rudra(Shiva). Rudra or Shiva is the omniscient lord of the Hindus representing the trinity and symbolises the quality 'destruction' for the purposes of recreation for the universe to carry on .





Aksha means the eyes and rudraksha means the eyes of Rudra that is considered so sacred and divine. The reason behind this seed being known in the name of lord's eye unfolds the story of its mythological origin. Rudraksha seed has been assigned very special place in hindu scriptures and it is a fact that the same is assigned with many a mystical and divine property. Rudraksh plant is known as 'ELAEOCARPUS GRANITRUS'. The Rudraksha tree is found in India , Bhutan , nepal and a few other Southn East Asian countries but not in Europe or USA.

One Faced Rudraksham (Rudraksha)



Rudraksha is known in India from time immemorial and there are divine references in many puraanaas(Sacred texts) and other scriptures. There are reliable references about Rudraksha in Shiva purana , Padma Puranas besides in Devi Bhagavatham. It is considered to ward off ill health, evil influence ,and grant lasting health and happiness to the wearer .


The selection of Rudraksha is of paramount importance as different types of Rudrakshas represent different planets and quality and have different action on the human body. Rudrakshas are of many kinds depending on their faces called Mukhis in sanskrit. Some of these Rudrakshas are rare where as some others are quite in abundance. The value of the Rudraksha also depends on its availabilty. It is stated that there are 38 types of Rudrakshas starting from the most sacred one mukhi to 38 Mukhis or faces.The faces are the deep lines that appear on the surface of this seed and one can easily find out the same.
